It is important not to confuse self-care with self-indulgence. How many times have you felt burned out, so you buy something over budget, throw back a bottle of wine, and binge Netflix all day thinking, “Self Care day!” Meanwhile, your bills are still stressing you out, you have anxiety from being hungover and watching tv all day, and your original problem of burnout still exists? That is self-indulgence. True self care is committing to practices that nurture your body, mind, heart, spirit, and life, even when those decisions are tough. True self care is not about perfectionism, but about love.

Have you seen the quote that says we are basically a complicated house plant that just needs food, water, and sun? Live by that. The goal here is to nourish your body in a reasonable way. Check the perfectionism at the door, put one hand on your heart and one on your belly, take a deep breath, and promise your body that you will do your best to respect it and nourish it.

In this workbook, I will break down true self care into readable and practical categories of body, mind, heart & spirit to serve your life.
